This finely cast gilt copper alloy sculpture, gilded with 24 karat gold, represents Vajrasattva, one of the most important purification deities in Vajrayana Buddhism.
Seated in vajra posture, Vajrasattva holds the vajra in his right hand at the heart, symbolizing indestructible wisdom, while the left hand holds the bell (ghanta), representing ultimate knowledge and emptiness. Together, these attributes express the union of wisdom and method.
The figure is adorned with a refined crown, delicate jewelry, and finely incised patterns on the garments, demonstrating the high level of craftsmanship. The serene expression and balanced proportions give the sculpture a calm and meditative presence.
