Height: 39 cm
Weight: 5.920 kg
Gilded with 24 karat of gold and embellished with semi precious stones.
This crowned Buddha represents Śākyamuni at the moment of Enlightenment, touching the earth with his right hand — the Bhūmisparśa mudrā, or “Earth-touching gesture.”
It recalls the instant when he called the Earth to witness his victory over Māra, the tempter, symbolizing the triumph of wisdom over illusion.
Adorned with a five-jewel crown and princely ornaments, this depiction evokes the royal origins of Prince Siddhārtha before his renunciation.
His left hand rests in meditation, holding an alms bowl.
Handcrafted in Patan, Nepal, this 24K gold-gilded bronze statue exemplifies the refined grace of Newar craftsmanship.
