PATAN MUSEUM EXHIBITION

This statue was part of the exhibition in the Patan Museum: "The Revival of Newari Woodcarving, 2024".
Mother of all buddhas and fearlessly compassionate, Tara outstretched her right foot to indicate her readiness to step in the realm of suffering to help all beings in distress.
She holds a water lilies that symbolise the purity of her heart and compassion.
Her right hand is using the gesture (mudra) of “boon-granting”, granting all desires.
