Hand-carved in magnolia champaka wood by a master Newar artist from the Kathmandu Valley, this remarkable relief depicts the life of the Buddha through a richly detailed narrative composition.

At the center, Shakyamuni Buddha is shown seated in meditation beneath an ornate shrine, embodying enlightenment and inner stillness.
Around him unfolds a complex visual narrative illustrating key moments of his life, from his birth and renunciation to his awakening and teaching.

The composition integrates architectural elements, natural landscapes, and numerous figures, creating a dynamic and immersive storytelling scene.
Each detail contributes to a continuous narrative, inviting the viewer to explore the spiritual journey of the Buddha.
