This finely cast gilt copper alloy sculpture, gilded with 24-karat gold, represents Manjushri, the Bodhisattva of transcendent wisdom in Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism.

Seated in vajra posture upon a lotus base, Manjushri embodies the clarity and insight that cut through ignorance. In his right hand, he raises the flaming sword of wisdom, symbolically severing delusion and revealing ultimate truth. His left hand holds the stem of a lotus supporting the Prajñāpāramitā manuscript, representing the “Perfection of Wisdom,” one of the most profound teachings of the Buddhist tradition.

The figure is richly adorned with a five-leaf crown, elaborate jewelry, and finely detailed garments, characteristic of bodhisattva imagery. The face is serene and contemplative, with softly modeled features expressing calm and inner clarity.
