Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth, prosperity, fortune, and beauty.
She is often depicted with four arms, symbolizing the four goals of human life in Hindu tradition: dharma (righteousness), artha (prosperity), kama (desire), and moksha (spiritual liberation).
In Nepal, she is honored by both Hindus and Buddhists, particularly during Tihar (also known as Deepawali), the festival of lights. On the day of Laxmi Puja, devotees decorate their homes with oil lamps and candles to guide the goddess into their households, believing her presence will bring good fortune for the coming year. Offerings of sweets, flowers, and coins are made, and doorways are adorned with colorful patterns to welcome her blessings.
