This statue was part of the exhibition in the Patan Museum: "The Revival of Newari Woodcarving, 2024".
Bhairav (which means "terribly fearsome") is a wrathful manifestation of the god Shiva. He is one of the main deity worshipped by the Newars (Hindus as well as Buddhists). He is considered as the protector of the Kathmandu Valley.
